David Lee Wiley, 73, of Birmingham, IA passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his home. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place. A time to celebrate his life and visit with family will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. David L. Wiley was born on April 12, 1953, in Keosauqua, IA to James and Mary Bartholomew Wiley. He was the fifth of eight children. He attended school in Van Buren County, graduating with the class of 1971. Shorty after graduation he joined the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge. David quickly entered the workforce spending time doing construction before beginning his career at Falco in Fairfield, IA where he was a dedicated employee for over 38 years.
In retirement David loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing as well as horses. He was a lifelong resident of Van Buren County; a place he loved to call home. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with family, and his presence here will be deeply missed.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim. Left to honor his memory are his three sons, Tim (Heather) Wiley of Stockport, IA, Josh (Jessica) Wiley of Libertyville, IA, and Brandon (Phoebe) Wiley of Birmingham, IA; 10 grandchildren, Caitlin, Colton, Raelin, Wayne, Henry, Charity, Madison, Kayden, Austin, and Addison; his siblings, Mick, Don, Janet, Norma, Pat, and Fran, as well as many extended family and friends.
