A Batavia woman is facing a theft charge after an incident at the Ottumwa Walmart earlier this week.
According to court records, officers with the Ottumwa Police Department were dispatched to Walmart on Venture Drive at approximately 5:51 p.m. on July 8 following a report of shoplifting.
Authorities allege that 67-year-old Lois Devore was observed on store surveillance video failing to scan an item before passing the final point of sale.
Devore was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Wapello County Jail. She was later released after posting bond.
Court records show her initial appearance is scheduled for July 14.
