Dulsey Gray, age 83, of Albia, IA, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at The Cottages in Pella, IA, surrounded by her loved ones, under the care of Wesley Life Hospice.
Dulsey was born on June 26, 1942, in Winterset, IA, where she was raised, to Russell and Nellie (Wright) Stuart. She was the 2nd born of 6 girls. Dulsey was united in marriage to John Gray and to this union, a daughter, Heather, was born.
Dulsey spent many years working data entry for Greyhound. This job allowed her to take many trips to Denver, Colorado to see family. An unforgettable trip was when she took her daughter Heather on the Greyhound bus to California where they visited Disneyland and experienced their first and only earthquake.
Dulsey is survived by her daughter, Heather (Ryan) West of Albia; 4 grandchildren, Tyler McKibbin of Centerville, Ashlyn (Trent) Clark of Columbia, and Abigail and Cason West of Albia; 2 great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Cohen Clark; and sisters, Barb Jorgenson of Harlan, Lois Stuart of Virginia, and Lora Stuart of Indianola. Dulsey is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Nellie Stuart; a sister, Arvetta at birth; a sister, Ruth; a nephew, Jason; and a niece, Stacy at birth.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor John Sowers officiating. Burial will follow services at the King Cemetery near Peru, IA.
