The Pekin Panthers dominated from start to finish, defeating Lone Tree 72-37 on Tuesday, December 16th, to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Pekin exploded out of the gates, building a commanding 25-6 lead after the first quarter. The Panthers extended their advantage to 46-22 by halftime and 66-30 after three quarters before cruising to the 35-point victory.

Cole Millikin led all scorers with 25 points. Henry Adam added 14 points, and Alijah Brock contributed 13 points. Riley Smith scored eight points, Nolan Glick added seven points, Carson Comstock chipped in three points, and Brody Sobaski finished with two points.

Statistics were provided by Michael Comstock during his broadcast of the game.

Pekin head coach John Swanson was pleased with his team’s fast start and balanced scoring attack.

“Fast start last night, up 25-6 after one quarter. Three guys in double figures led by Cole Millikin with 25, Henry Adam 14 points, and Alijah Brock 13 points,” Swanson said.

Swanson praised Millikin’s early-season performance and work ethic.

“Not surprised Cole is having a great start to the season. First-team all-conference last year and put in a great off-season of work, and things are paying off for him in the early part of the season,” Swanson said.

The Panthers (4-1) will look to continue their strong play as they wait to host Columbus on Thursday, December 18th.
