Pamela Kaye Salter, 81, of Ottumwa died at 5:17 p.m. December 7, 2025 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born July 6, 1944 in Ottumwa to Robert “Bob” Lawrence and Corinne Foy Fredrickson Grogan. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1962. She married Teddy “Tedd” Dean Salter May 1, 1964 at the Ottumwa Church of the Brethren.
Pam was an administrative assistant for McDonalds stores in Ottumwa, she began in 1978 and retired in 2014.
Pam was active in TOPS program and was also a member of Drifters Car Club and Fox and Sac Lapidary Club. During her life she enjoyed volleyball, roller-skating, bowling, traveling west to Colorado and Yellowstone National Park. She also enjoyed playing scrabble competitively and loved books and was an avid reader.
She was devoted to her husband and family and enjoyed being at home living a simple life. She had 2 cats she enjoyed very much, Bobbie Sue and LooLoo.
Surviving are her 2 children, Brett (Debbie) Salter of Ottumwa and Amy Salter of Agency; a granddaughter, Allison Salter of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tedd, who passed away December 22, 2023, they were married 59 years.
Per Pam’s wishes, her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be made in her name to Heartland Humane Society.
