The case of Steven Ray “Stevie” Leasure, who went missing from Burlington, Iowa, on May 2, 2015, continues to haunt his family and the community. At 52 years old, Leasure was last seen at a residence on Gnahn Street before being spotted later that day at a nearby Circle K convenience store, where he was seen inflating the tires of his blue GT bicycle. His family reported him missing shortly after, leading to an extensive search that included sonar-equipped boats scouring Lake West, where his bicycle was eventually found on June 9, 2015.

The investigation took a grim turn on June 8, 2016, when a human foot was discovered near the lake, prompting authorities to investigate further. It wasn’t until June 19, 2017, that DNA testing confirmed the foot belonged to Leasure, reopening painful wounds for his family. Despite the grim discovery, his disappearance remains classified as a missing persons case, with investigators still exploring the possibility of foul play. Leasure is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 200 pounds, with blue eyes and distinctive scars on his face. His family and law enforcement continue to search for answers, hoping to bring closure to a case that has left many questions unanswered.
