A graveside service for Loyce R. “Lo” Edgar (Garrett), who passed away on April 7, 2024, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Ottumwa Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa. Friends and family are invited to attend. Loyce will be laid to rest with her father, John D. Garrett.
Loyce passed away on April 7, 2024 after a courageous 17 year battle with cancer.
Born on November 6, 1956, in Ottumwa, she later moved to Texas where she spent 24 years as a forklift driver at Madix in Terrel, TX where she earned the nickname “Blondie.”
Known for her loving and strong-willed spirit, Loyce was a devoted sister, friend, aunt, and cousin. She especially enjoyed spoiling her 18 nieces and nephews, as she had no children of her own.
Loyce is survived by her sisters Peggy, Benita, Bonnie (Edward), Terri (David), sister-in-law Carol, her ex-husband Jacky Edgar, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phillip O’Banion, and her brother Willis.
A memorial service was held in Van, TX on April 13, 2024.
