Mary Helen Baldridge Brady, 79, of Ottumwa, passed away on May 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born February 1, 1946 to Walter and Clara McGanahan Baldridge in Lanagan, MO.
Mary first married Herman Heifort in 1963. They were married for four years and together had four children: James (Kim) Heifort of Ottumwa, Jennifer (Gary) Townsend of Des Moines, Tim Heifort of Ottumwa, and Jeff (Lori) Heifort of Ottumwa. Though their marriage ended in divorce, they remained connected through their children.
In 1982, Mary married Tom Brady, and the two shared a loving life in Texas. After Tom’s passing, Mary and Herman rekindled their relationship and remarried in 2012, spending their later years together until Herman’s passing.
Mary found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She was also very proud of being a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 43 years, finding a strong support system that helped her achieve and maintain sobriety.
Mary is also survived by two stepdaughters: Dawn (Garry) Willier of State Center, and Amanda (Phil) LeGrande of Agency.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom Brady and Herman Heifort, and her stepdaughter, Ronda Heifort Boas of Ottumwa.
Her body has been cremated. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
