Salem Fire and Rescue along with Mt. Pleasant Fire and the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, battled a devastating fire at Feehan’s Flowers and Greenhouse located in Salem, Iowa over the weekend.
Portions of the structure are deemed unusable and caused significant damage to the businesses heating and electrical systems.
The fire destroyed approximately 30 to 40 percent of the main greenhouse. The owners along with the community’s help were able to move a lot of the inventory into to another greenhouse located on the property.
While the full extent of the financial loss remains uncertain, the fire and damage is still under investigation.
The owners are focused on recovery and opening on time, which is scheduled the third week of April, 2025.
