Ida Mae Fye, 96, formerly of Ollie, died at 2:10 a.m. January 1, 2025 at her residence in Ottumwa.
She was born April 5, 1928 in Linby, IA to James E. “Jimmy” and Florence Marie Sheraden Haines. Ida married Francis L. Fye on September 22, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2018.
Surviving are her children, John L. Fye, Francine K. (Ed) Paxton, Vickie L. Garrison and Joel A. Fye (Paula Thudium), all of Ottumwa; 3 grandchildren, Dylan (Allison) Garrison, Derek Fye and Gage White Buffalo; 4 great-grandchildren, Lincoln Francis Garrison, August Fye Garrison, Harper Mae Fye and Halle Fye.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Hyman Kay Haines.
Eastern Star and funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 7th at Reece Funeral Home. Her family will be present from 12 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service to greet friends. Cremation will follow the services.
Private inurnment will be in Ollie Cemetery at a later date.
