The Fairfield Interim Superintendent will be leading an eastern Iowa school district this fall.

The Central DeWitt Community School District named Stephanie Mishler its new superintendent in a press release. Mishler replaces Dan Peterson who is stepping down after a 16-year tenure.

Mishler was tabbed the Interim Superintendent at the Fairfield Community School District last July when former Superintendent Laurie Noll resigned. Zach Wigle was selected by the Fairfield School Board to be the next superintendent in February.

“I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the superintendent. My husband, Matt, our four daughters, and I are thrilled to become active members of the Central DeWitt community.” Central DeWitt Superintendent Stephanie Mishler

Mishler is credited with leading a successful public information campaign resulting in a 67% approval rate for an increased PPEL (Physical Plant & Equipment Levy) referendum in March 2024 and implemented a program-based budgeting process that reduced expenditures by up to $1.6 million.
