William “Bill” Kahl was born on December 15, 1970, in Latrobe, PA to William and Ida Simms Kahl III. The first chapter of his life was spent in Pennsylvania where he attended school and became a loving father to two children: Jessica and Cody. He started Kahl’s Construction where he designed and completed many projects in and around Fairfield Township, PA. Bill was always one to help when he could and spent 15 years on the Fairfield Township Fire Department while in Pennsylvania. When an opportunity arose for a large project in Iowa, he took the opportunity and moved with his children. Once here he realized it was a great place for his construction business as well as for his children to grow and be successful. Once in Iowa he welcomed his third child Charles to the family. Bill’s path in life eventually brought him to the love of his life, Megan Millhouse. The two were married at the Calvary Baptist Church in Ottumwa, IA on August 3, 2019. Together the family grew with the addition of two children: Addison and Kristiana, as well as two stepchildren, Isabelle, and Braiden. Bill loved his role as husband and father and always made sure that family came first. When he had time away from work, he enjoyed a good BBQ and spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. Bill was someone who would help anyone and was highly respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be missed, but also honored and remembered by his family and many friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Kahl III and stepfather, Clyde.

Left to share his story is his loving wife, Megan Kahl of Batavia, IA; five children, Jessica (Zachary) Kahl-Bishop of Batavia, IA, Cody Kahl (Haile Widajewski) of Fairfield, IA, Addison, Charles, and Kristiana Kahl of Batavia, IA; two stepchildren, Isabelle and Braiden Young; four grandchildren, Rae Kahl, Sophia and Liam Bishop, and Kaidence Wyatt; a sister-in-law who Bill considered a sister, Jenny Millhouse, as well as many extended family and friends.
