The Wapello County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, October 6, with a regular meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m., followed by a work session at 11 a.m. Both meetings will be held on the third floor of the Wapello County Courthouse in the Board Room/Courtroom.
The regular meeting agenda includes several items for the board to consider.
Supervisors will review the September 22 regular meeting and September 22 work session minutes, along with county bills totaling $459,541.20.
The board will also discuss and consider setting a public hearing for a proposed Renewable Energy Ordinance.
Other agenda items include:
- Filling a vacancy on the Wellness Committee with the appointment of Kyra Leon.
- A request from the Wapello County Attorney’s Office to purge physical files.
- Appointments to the Conservation Board. Amy Gardner and Paul Cartwright are being considered, with terms beginning January 1, 2027.
- A quarterly transfer of funds to the Secondary Roads Fund.
- A temporary road closure and detour for H-47, also known as Copperhead Road.
- A proposal from Christner Contracting for door installation at the Wapello Building, with a project cost of $1,605.
- A ReGov Iowa pre-release software program agreement.
- An IBP resolution agreement involving three cases.
- Personnel matters, including payroll approval for three new correctional officers with the Sheriff’s Department and a change of employment for a Conservation Department employee.
The meeting will also include a public forum. Members of the public may request to address the board, with comments limited to two minutes if approved.
Following the regular meeting, the board’s 11 a.m. work session will include discussions on county insurance policies and coverage with Wilene White of Noel Insurance, as well as a proposed High Load Energy Consumption Industry Ordinance.
The work session will also include a public forum.
