An Oskaloosa man is facing an assault charge after allegedly shoving a neighbor to the ground during a dispute over dogs.
Gregory Franklin, 43, is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness, a serious misdemeanor.
According to court documents, the incident occurred on October 12th at approximately 5:11 p.m. in the 500 block of G Avenue West in Oskaloosa. Franklin’s two dogs ran from his residence and into a neighboring residence, where they attacked the neighbor’s dog. The neighbor approached Franklin, who was standing near the roadway, and told him to leave the property. During the interaction, Franklin allegedly shoved the neighbor to the ground, causing a large abrasion to the victim’s right forearm.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 28th. Franklin has since posted a surety bond.
