Grassley says potential bridge aid would be in addition to Harvest Fuel Relief

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says Harvest Fuel Relief Program payments will have no effect on a possible second round of Farmer Bridge Assistance.

“It’s two separate things. And I think the President made that clear when he was in Kansas and he announced that $8 billion. That $8 billion is in addition to the Bridge money.”

The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield the Bridge assistance would come from the supplemental appropriation bill designed to replenish military funding for the Iran war.

“That’s about a $65 billion cost, and part of that $65 billion would be the Bridge money.”

USDA Undersecretary Stephen Vaden recently told Brownfield producers who were eligible for the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program will likely be eligible for the Harvest Fuel Relief Program.
