Washington Organizations Team Up for Winter Clothing Drive

As cooler temperatures arrive, several Washington organizations are coming together to help local residents prepare for the winter season.

The Washington YMCA, Washington Public Library, and Farm Bureau Ann C. Williams’ Agency are collecting gently used winter clothing as part of a community effort to make sure everyone has access to warm clothing when they need it.

Organizers are looking for clean items in good condition, including coats, hats, scarves, boots, snow pants, and gloves. Warm sweatshirts and zip-up jackets are also welcome. Donors are asked to wash clothing before dropping it off and make any minor repairs, such as replacing missing buttons.

Collection boxes are available at all three participating locations through October 2. While monetary donations are not being accepted, community members are welcome to purchase and donate new winter items.

The donated clothing will be made available to individuals and families in need at the Washington Public Library from October 7 through October 10, while supplies last.

Residents looking to help their neighbors stay warm this winter can drop off donations at any of the three participating locations.
