Mahaska Health is recognizing its Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs) during Health Unit Coordinator Week, celebrating the important role these team members play in supporting patients, families and clinical staff.

Health Unit Coordinators are an essential part of the daily operations at Mahaska Health. Working behind the scenes and alongside clinical teams, HUCs help keep communication, coordination and administrative tasks moving smoothly.

Their work can include helping coordinate patient care, communicating with members of the care team, managing important information and assisting with the many details that allow clinical staff to focus on providing quality care.

Mahaska Health says the dedication and compassion shown by its HUC team make a difference in the patient experience every day.

“Health Unit Coordinators are an important part of our healthcare team,” Mahaska Health said. “Their attention to detail, commitment to patients and willingness to support their coworkers help create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.”

Health Unit Coordinator Week provides an opportunity to recognize these professionals and thank them for the work they do each day to keep care teams organized and connected.

Mahaska Health is proud to recognize and celebrate its HUC team for their continued dedication to patients, families and fellow employees.
