Gloria Crall, a beloved soul and a beacon of light in the Albia community, passed away on September 1, 2026. Born in Albia, Iowa, Gloria’s life was a testament to the strength of love, the power of family, and the joy found in everyday moments. She was born on December 16, 1937 to Tony and Ramona (Buyan) Kauzlarich.
Gloria was a woman of many talents, each one a shining thread in the vibrant tapestry of her life. Before her marriage, Gloria worked at Trophy Glove in Albia, showcasing her dedication and hardworking spirit. She married Stephen A. Crall on June 27, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia. They were blessed with three children: Angela, Brian, and Jennifer. After years of providing love and care for her children at home, she took on the role of Cook for the Moravia School System, where she worked for 16 years. Her freshly baked sweet Croatian bread and carefully prepared meals were enjoyed by the entire family. Her passion for creating extended beyond the kitchen as she delighted in gardening and sewing, even crafting many of her daughters’ clothes. In her spare time, Gloria could once be found rolling strikes in her bowling league, serving as a 4H leader with the Monroe Busy Members, and contributing to St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary, and also a religious education teacher for two years. Through these activities, Gloria’s vibrant spirit and commitment to her community shone brightly.
Central to Gloria’s life was her devotion to her family. Each family gathering, each shared meal, each quiet moment spent together, was a testament to the boundless love she held for them. She taught her family and those around her the importance of love, kindness, and resilience, lessons that will continue to live on in their hearts. She loved sitting back and listening to her loud family when they all got together.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen A. Crall; Children, Angela (Kevin) Wilson, Brian (Gina) Crall, Jennifer (Sean) Grinstead; grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashley (John), Jeffrey, Nathan, Jorryn, Samantha, Garin; great grandchildren, Mark, Bo, Luke, Addilynne; two sisters-in-law, Mary Joanne (Mike) Wasko and Helen Shepard; sister-in-law, Moe Kauzlarich. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Romona Kauzlarich; siblings, Regina Charles, Eddie, Joe, Eva, Mary, Stephana, Johnny, Emil, Kathryn, Helen, Frances, Rudy, Richard, and Paul; father and mother in law, John J. and Mary A. Crall; and brothers-in law, John Joe, William, Bernard.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026 from 3-8 p.m., with Gloria’s family present at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. There will be a Rosary recited by St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary at 4 p.m., and a Christian Wake Service held at 7:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia with Father Isaac Essel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Georgetown. Memorials have been established to the family and will be directed later.
