Belinda Todd, 70, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, September 28, 2026, at her home in Oskaloosa. She was born on December 22, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was raised in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Vern and Peggy (Knight) Beck. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1974. While in high school she worked at Don’s Diner in Oskaloosa. She completed her nurses training at Indian Hills Community College and started her nursing career. She worked at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville until they closed and then transferred to Des Moines, retiring from there after 29 years of service. When her children were young, she attended Hilltop Chapel in What Cheer. Belinda was content to be at home and visit with family when they stopped by to visit. She did enjoy trips to the casino and looking for bargains at garage sales.
Her family includes three children, Jennifer Ashman of Oskaloosa, Joshua Todd of Oskaloosa, and Jessica Todd of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Isaiah, Josiah, and Jeremiah Ashman; a sister and her husband, Kathy and Joe Nelson of Oskaloosa; a sister-in-law, Brenda Todd of Cedar; nephews and niece, Keith Todd, Jason Nelson, and Amanda Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Brook Todd; her companion of over 40 years, Carroll Rauch; a son-in-law, Clint Ashman; two stepbrothers, Mike Beck and David Beck; and a stepsister, Connie Beck.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2. 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Jon Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery near Rose Hill. The Bates Funeral Chaple is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Thursday, October 1, 2026, after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter.
