Road improvement work is continuing in Ottumwa as paving crews return to the Gladstone Street, Lake Drive, Greenwood Drive and Skyline Drive areas beginning today, Monday, August 3.
Crews will spend Monday patching sections of Gladstone Street and Lake Drive in preparation for paving.
Starting Tuesday, August 4, Greenwood Drive will be closed between Wildwood Drive and Skyline Drive while paving work is underway. Residents will still be able to access their homes. Motorists traveling to Good Samaritan are encouraged to use Chester Avenue from Wildwood Drive or Skyline Drive from Albia Road to avoid the construction zone.
Officials also advise that there will be a brief period on Tuesday when residents in the 1800 block of Gladstone Street and those living on Gladstone Circle will temporarily be unable to access their homes while paving is taking place.
Work will continue on Wednesday, August 5, with crews paving Skyline Drive between Greenwood Drive and Albia Road. Drivers heading to Good Samaritan should continue using Chester Avenue off Wildwood Drive. Greenwood Drive will remain open but motorists should expect delays and congestion in the area.
Paving on Wildwood Drive is scheduled for later this year after installation of a new water main is completed.
