LaVona Rose Seth passed away in the early morning hours on August 27, 2026 in Fairfield, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on August 30th at 12:00 noon at the Anson Community Church at 12537 County Rd 18, Revere, Missouri. Memorials to EveryStep Hospice and can be left at the Celebration of Life or mailed to Tami Kramer at 1843 Libertyville Rd, Libertyville, IA 52567.
She was born on June 8, 1941 at Ft. Madison, Iowa to Roger and Sylvia Naplin. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1959 then worked and met the love of her life, Wendell at Sheaffer Pen in Ft. Madison, IA. They were married in 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, raising their three children on the Seth family farm.
LaVona dedicated her life to raising their three children while also working as a school cook at Revere C-3, at Riverside Plastics, and as a home health aide. Summers were filled with camping and preparing for the kids 4-H entries at the local fair. LaVona enjoyed sewing quilts and often ventured off the farm for bus trips to faraway places including seeing the ocean and palm trees for the first time at the age of 82. She loved playing cards as couples for many years with special friends, putting together puzzles or reading a great book.
LaVona is survived by sisters, Edna Still and Deborah (Wally) Woodward and brothers, John Naplin and Nathan Naplin; her daughters, Sandi Drezden of Destin, Florida and Tami (Steve) Kramer of Libertyville, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Colbi (Katie) Seth, Cori Seth, Kole Seth, Amanda (Grant) Cushman, Eric (Janelle) Kramer, Kylee (Johnny) Siegel, Anee (Justin) Lampe, Drew (Murphy) Zane; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
LaVona was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, her parents Roger and Sylvia Naplin and brother Jimmy Naplin and sister Rhonda Sue Huff, her son Gary Seth and grandson Quinten Seth.
