Krista Michelle Heston entered this life on November 10, 1972, in Keosauqua, IA the daughter of Bill and Bonnie Carter. She grew up and attended school at Van Buren County where she excelled in softball and volleyball and graduated with the class of 1991. Her love story with Charlie Heston began over a music production where Krista was a cast member and Charlie was working the sound. The two never left each other’s side from that moment forward. They began their journey together as husband and wife on October 26, 1996, and spent almost 30
years making memories. Together they became the loving parents of two children, Shelby and Tyler.

Krista loved her job as mother and worked outside the home at Barker Co. LTD for over 23 years until her health would no longer allow. She was determined to stay busy and was currently working as the office manager at Lanz Truck Wash and Repair in Morning Sun where she took pride in her work and loved the people she worked with.

Krista carried her love of sports after high school playing on local co-ed slow pitch leagues and eventually following her children to their many sporting events both as a background coach and supportive mother. She loved horses and the outdoors and would go for a ride whenever she was given the chance. Krista also felt at home in the water and was a certified scuba diver, and to add to her list of accomplishments she was an author of 3 books. As time passed and things became a little more of a challenge, she used her creative mind to create wonderful laser etched woodwork and epoxy molds which are showcased in her home. She was an amazing cook and was never afraid to try any recipe or just create her own. Krista had a special place in her heart for her four-legged companions, Muxie, Dozer, and Kash who more times than not were her silent partners in conversation. Krista was a loving daughter, wife, mother, (soon to be
grandmother) and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have met her along the way.

Krista was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Left to share her story is her husband, Charlie Heston of Stockport, IA; two children, Shelby (Grant) Powell of Palmyra, MO and Tyler Heston (Reagan Schwartz) of Stockport, IA, a grandbaby on the way who may not have gotten to meet her but will hear stories of their grandmother; her parents, Bill and Bonnie Carter of Keosauqua, IA; a sister, Kim Millard (Dennis Johnson), as well as many extended family and many, many friends.
