A Washington man is facing multiple charges, including two felony counts, after police say he threatened to shoot a woman during a disturbance Thursday night.

According to court records, the Washington Police Department arrested 62-year-old Orbie Brown of Washington on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon, both Class D felonies. He is also charged with two counts of first-degree harassment and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, all aggravated misdemeanors.

Officers were called to the 700 block of East Main Street at approximately 9:46 p.m. following reports of a disturbance involving a firearm.

Investigators say witnesses reported that Brown was carrying a handgun and allegedly threatened to shoot the victim in the head. The victim told officers she feared Brown was going to shoot both her and her mother.

Brown was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail, where he is being held on a $16,000 bond. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for July 10.
