A Van Buren County man is facing a misdemeanor charge following an alleged incident at a shared residence on Sunday, July 5th.
Nathaniel Wright, 29, of Keosauqua has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault — First Offense, a simple misdemeanor.
According to court documents, a verbal altercation between Wright and the victim escalated at approximately 12:20 a.m. A family member at the residence heard the disturbance, entered the room, and observed Wright with his hand on the victim’s neck. The family member intervened and removed Wright from the victim.
Deputies arrived and located Wright outside the residence. After speaking with both individuals separately, authorities determined Wright was the primary aggressor and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Van Buren County Jail.
