Mahaska Health in Oskaloosa, along with Ottumwa Radio Group, would like to congratulate Moravia Baseball player Blake Ewing, our 92.7 KTWA Athlete of the Week!
The junior delivered a double, an RBI, and pitched two shutout innings as the Mohawks took down Martensdale-St. Mary’s 2-1 in last Tuesday’s substate final to make the state tournament for the first time since 1988. For the season, Ewing is batting .414 with two home runs and a team-leading 34 RBI. On the mound, Ewing has a 5-1 record with an ERA of 0.84 to go along with 77 strikeouts over 41.2 innings.
