Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a farmland leasing workshop in Sigourney on Monday, August 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Keokuk County ISU Extension office, located at 400 220th Avenue, according to a social media post from ISU Extension Keokuk County.
The two-hour program is designed for farmland owners, tenants, and those involved in farm succession planning. Topics covered will include recent survey trends and the current market outlook, strategies to strengthen communication between tenants and landowners, how farm estate and succession plans can impact farmland leases, and how to calculate a fair cash rent based on current economic conditions.
Registration is $25 per individual and includes one copy of the newest Farmland Leasing Arrangements book. Pre-registration is encouraged at least two days before the meeting.
