An eastern Iowa farmer says he’s tackling some weed management in early June.
Dave Walton raises corn and soybeans near Wilton along the Mississippi River.
“Next thing up is post spraying. We’ve got some of the early planted corn that we’re getting really close to putting that first post-pass on. That’s next thing on the list.”
He tells Brownfield herbicide costs have been elevated.
“Prices have gone up just like everything else. It seems like the herbicide costs maybe haven’t gone up quite as much as the fertilizer has this year.”
But Walton says there haven’t been any herbicide availability issues.
