A major infrastructure project will bring a long-term road closure to a section of North Washington Street starting Monday, June 8.
City officials say North Washington Street will be closed between West Fourth Street and just north of West Fifth Street to allow crews to reconstruct the roadway and install new underground utilities. The project includes the replacement of sanitary sewer lines, storm sewer infrastructure, and a new water main.
The closure will begin after the intersection of West Fourth Street and North Washington Street reopens to traffic.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction and should use extra caution when traveling near the work zone.
Weather permitting, the closure is expected to remain in place through the remainder of the summer.
