An Ottumwa woman has been charged following a harassment incident reported last week.
According to criminal complaints, officers with the Ottumwa Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of East Main Street at approximately 9:41 p.m. on May 28 in response to a harassment report.
Court records state that 32-year-old Mercedes Reisch of Ottumwa allegedly threatened the victim, telling her she would shoot her. Documents indicate the victim was intimidated and alarmed by Reisch’s actions.
Reisch was arrested and transported to the Wapello County Jail. She was later released after posting a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
A no-contact order was issued on May 29. Reisch is charged with first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 4.
