A leak that delayed the opening of Fairfield’s outdoor pool has been located and repaired, with the facility now tentatively set to open Wednesday, June 10th, pending safety checks and inspector approval.
The leak was found in the outdoor pool’s filtration system. According to the City of Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, the issue has been remediated and will allow the outdoor pool to be operational for the summer once it clears the required inspections.
There are a few important things for patrons to know going forward. Due to the location of the leak, the Splash Pad will have limited hours to prevent water loss. Additionally, a 20-minute all-pool break will take place on weekdays from 3:00 to 3:20 p.m., affecting the outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. When the outdoor pool is open, unsupervised children will not be allowed in the indoor pool.
Schedule for the Week of June 8th through June 12th:
Monday, June 8th and Tuesday, June 9th — Indoor pool only.
Monday indoor schedule: Lap swim and water walking from 5:30 to 9:00 a.m., lap swim and swim lessons from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., lap swim and water walking from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., open swim from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., and lap swim and water walking from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday indoor schedule: Lap swim and swim lessons from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., lap swim and water walking from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., open swim from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., and lap swim and water walking from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

The indoor pool is located at 1000 W. Burlington Ave. in Fairfield. The department asks for continued patience as staff work to get the outdoor pool fully operational for the summer season.
