A former Oklahoma healthcare worker now living in Crawfordsville has been charged with three felony counts of sexual battery following an investigation into allegations made by several female hospital employees.
Michael Ralls, 57, worked as a nurse anesthetist in Elk City, Oklahoma, before becoming the subject of a criminal investigation earlier this year. According to court filings, the investigation was launched after a teenage intern reported receiving inappropriate messages from Ralls in February.
As investigators examined the complaint, additional hospital employees came forward. Three women reported separate incidents that led authorities to pursue criminal charges. Court records indicate Ralls was in a supervisory role or held authority over the employees involved.
Hospital officials also conducted an internal review and ultimately ended Ralls’ employment. Authorities say he later relocated to Crawfordsville.
Charges were formally filed on May 4, and an arrest warrant was issued that same day. Ralls was later taken into custody by Oklahoma authorities.
The three felony sexual battery charges carry a combined potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison if he is found guilty. The allegations have not yet been tested in court, and Ralls is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
