Wayne Brian Ross, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, departed this world on May 29, 2026, at the age of 65 at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Wayne was born on May 8, 1961, in Marengo, Iowa, to Richard and Joyce Ross, both of whom preceded him in death. Wayne is survived by his siblings: Charlotte Neil and her husband Terry, David Ross, Madonna Smithburg and her husband Dave. Wayne was a proud uncle to Nancy Neil, Tucker Neil, Stephanie Schafer and Mike Smithburg. He cherished his many great nephews and one great niece. A gentle and generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Wayne’s dedication to his friends and family was unparalleled.
Wayne found joy in the simplest pleasures of life, often seen in the company of his beloved dog, Morgan. His close buddies in Des Moines were a source of great joy and camaraderie, filling his days with laughter and friendship. In his final days, Wayne showed immense courage and strength, facing multiple health issues with grace and dignity.
His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at the VA Hospital in Des Moines and Marshalltown, whose care and kindness provided comfort to Wayne and his loved ones during difficult times.
