Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Reports Two Weekend Arrests

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate incidents over the weekend, resulting in arrests in Bonaparte and Cantril.

According to a press release from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, on April 11th at approximately 12:00 a.m., a deputy responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in the 600 block of First Street in Bonaparte. Clayton A. McCarty, 27, was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Criminal Mischief, and two counts of Disorderly Conduct, all simple misdemeanors. He was released from custody later that morning following his initial court appearance.

The following night, on April 12th at approximately 10:00 p.m., a deputy responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of West 3rd Street in Cantril. Hayley Jo Moore, 30, was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury and Disorderly Conduct. Moore is currently in custody awaiting her initial court appearance.
