Sigourney and Fairfield both competed at the Oskaloosa Invitational at the Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa Tuesday, April 28th, with Sigourney placing seventh and Fairfield 10th in a competitive 15-team field on the par-70, 18-hole course.
Team Standings
Pella won the team title with a 298, followed by Grinnell with 299, Washington with 307, Nevada with 308, Newton and Williamsburg tied with 312, Sigourney with 320, Winterset with 325, Oskaloosa with 330, Fairfield with 335, Mount Pleasant with 340, Clear Creek Amana with 356, Fort Madison with 357, Oskaloosa JV with 359, and Pella Christian with 364.
Sigourney
Solon Yates led Sigourney with a sixth-place finish, carding a 73 that included two birdies. Jordan Tremmel placed 20th with a 79, Ike Molyneux 27th with an 81 that featured one birdie, Landon Conrad 57th with an 87, Josh Wyatt 75th with a 91, and Hayden Bensmiller 85th with a 98. Chase Clarahan of Sigourney JV placed 81st with a 95.
Fairfield
Archer Kreuter led Fairfield with an 18th-place finish, shooting a 78 that included one birdie. Luke Thornton placed 42nd with an 83, Drew Myers 50th with an 85, Dain Burkhart 67th with an 89, Xavier Kessel 92nd with a 104, and Rowan Kness 93rd with a 106.
Other Leaders
The individual medalist was Kyler Besick of Pella, who fired a 1-under 69 to claim the title. Parker Rodgers of Nevada and Levi Jack of Grinnell tied for second with even-par 70s. Rajan Roth and Drew Conrad of Washington tied for fourth, both shooting 71s.
