Rick McKim, 77, of Agency passed away peacefully at 6:25 a.m. April 15, 2026 at his home with family by his side.
Rick was born November 1, 1948 in Ottumwa to Ivan “Jiggs” and Dorothy Kelly McKim. He married his high school sweetheart, Christine “Tina” Bloomquist, February 15, 1969 in Agency.
A resident of Agency most of his life, Rick was a 1967 graduate of Ottumwa High School. He worked as a machinist at Rockwell and retired after 32 years. He worked at First Resources for 12 years, retiring in 2012.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batavia.
Rick served as president of IAM Local 1293 for many years. He was a boy scout leader and coached baseball in Agency for many years. Being a certified scuba diver Rick enjoyed recreational diving at the Great Lakes. He enjoyed watching westerns, fishing and loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Tina; a son, Jason (Amanda) McKim of Agency; 5 grandchildren, Madison (Chance), Katelyn, Emma, Charlotte, Elizabeth; 1 great grandchild, Vada; 3 brothers, Ivan “Cook” (Linda) McKim of Knoxville, IL, Larry McKim of Ankeny, Jim (Annett) McKim of Hedrick; a sister, Dottie Jarr of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wayne McKim; twin daughters, Kristi and Karri; a sister, Susan Forbes; a brother, Greg McKim; a sister-in-law, Rose McKim.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 20th, at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Shipley officiating. The family will be present to greet friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Cremation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Batavia or Heartland Humane Society.
