The Ottumwa Police Department says an investigation led to the arrest of an Ottumwa man who allegedly abused three female juveniles.
Darrin Hill, 59, was charged with the following:
- Seven counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a child (Class B felony)
- Two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, by force (Class C felony)
- Continuous sex abuse of a child (Class B felony)
- Grooming (Class D felony)
- Two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor (Class C felony)
- Lascivious Conduct with a Minor (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
According to Lieutenant Jason Bell, the department began an investigation on March 31, 2026 based on a report of inappropriate messages involving an adult male and a minor female in Ottumwa.
Court records allege Hill sexually assaulted an eight-year-old child in December 2017 and repeatedly abused another child between eight and 13 years old in 2024. Police believe there are three female minors in total who have been allegedly abused by Hill.
Hill was arrested after officials executed a search warrant at a residence on the 600 block of Blake Street on April 8, 2026. Bell says the case remains under investigation.
Hill is currently in the Wapello County Jail where he is being held without bond.
