The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, has announced a temporary closure of a section of the Neal Smith Trail at Saylorville Lake.
The affected portion of the trail extends from Red Feather Prairie Access north to Cherry Glen Recreation Area and will be closed from May 6 through May 8.
The closure is necessary to allow contractors to complete final work on recently repaved sections of the trail. Officials say the temporary shutdown is essential to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.
Trail users are urged to remain outside all marked construction zones and to follow posted signage and fencing throughout the duration of the project.
For additional information, the public can contact the Saylorville Lake Administration Office at 515-276-4656.
