Jefferson County Health Center is expanding its regional presence with the addition of two new family practice providers who will begin seeing patients at the new JCHC Clinic in Ottumwa on April 20th.

Heather Easton, ARNP-C, and Shelbi Dexter, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C, will join the JCHC team, bringing a combined depth of experience in family-centered primary care to the Ottumwa community.

Easton brings more than 13 years of experience in family-focused primary care, with a strong emphasis on preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient-centered outcomes. She is known for her collaborative approach, taking time to listen and ensure patients feel informed and supported in their care decisions.

Dexter, a family nurse practitioner with a passion for whole-person care, focuses on identifying the root causes of patient concerns while building strong, trusting relationships. She has experience in family practice, weight management, and community-based care initiatives, and is deeply invested in serving the Ottumwa community she calls home.

JCHC CEO Bryan Hunger expressed enthusiasm about the additions. “We are excited to welcome Heather and Shelbi to our team as we expand into Ottumwa,” Hunger said. “Their dedication to patient-centered care aligns perfectly with our mission and our commitment to delivering care you can count on.”

Community members will have the opportunity to meet both providers at the JCHC Clinic Ottumwa Open House on Tuesday, April 14th beginning at 5:00 p.m. at 1000 Wildwood Drive. The clinic will officially open to patients on Monday, April 20th. Appointments are now being scheduled and can be made by calling 641-215-8201.
