On April 24th, at approximately 6:00 PM, over 100 cars gathered for a heartfelt honor cruise for Bernie Parrish of Ottumwa, who has been bravely battling cancer for some time now.
Bernie, a retired First Sergeant of the U.S. Army, was surrounded by a large crowd of family and friends, all eager to show their support. His face lit up with a huge smile as he took in the sight of the parade.
Many cars adorned American flags in tribute to this well-known man. As the vehicles drove past Bernie’s residence, the air was filled with the sounds of honking horns, revving engines, and even some rubber burning on the pavement.
Most of you might recognize Bernie from car shows, where he proudly displays his Army truck. But on this special evening, it was more than just a gathering of car enthusiasts; it was a celebration of family and brotherhood.
A huge shout-out goes to the Vintage Car Cruisers for organizing this touching event. Your efforts to honor Bernie are truly appreciated.
Thank you, Mr. Bernie Parrish, for your service and the inspiration you provide to so many.
