An Eddyville man has died following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday in Henry County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 12:24 a.m. on Highway 34 near mile marker 44.
A 26-year-old man was driving a 2017 Chevy Malibu northbound on Highway 34 when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck an embankment, sending the car into a nearby bridge.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Henry County EMS and Fire, and the Henry County Medical Examiner.
