UPDATE: The boil order for the City of Keota has been lifted.
The City of Keota has issued a boil water order that is currently in effect for all residents following a loss of pressure in the water system.
According to Keota Public Works, the boil order was issued as a precautionary measure after the pressure loss occurred. The city has since identified and corrected the problem at the water treatment plant, but the boil order will remain in effect until further notice while the situation continues to be monitored.
Residents are advised to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or any other consumption purposes.
The city thanked residents for their patience while crews worked to resolve the issue.
