Ottumwa Regional Health Center (ORHC) today announced that Michael B. Scherb, MD, has joined its medical staff and will be providing orthopedic and sports medicine services to patients throughout the Ottumwa area.
Dr. Scherb is board certified in orthopedic surgery and brings more than 25 years of clinical experience in caring for patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

ORHC offers a wide range of orthopedic care and treatment to meet the needs of patients at every stage of life, including joint replacement, sports medicine, fracture care, arthroscopy, and foot and ankle care. The program focuses on personalized treatment plans, timely access to care, and seamless coordination from diagnosis through recovery.
Prior to joining ORHC, Dr. Scherb served as an attending orthopedic surgeon at Mason City Clinic for 19 years. Dr. Scherb earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society and the Iowa Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Scherb’s clinical interests include general orthopedics, knee and hip replacement, arthroscopy and sports medicine, fracture care, and foot and ankle conditions. His experience supports the delivery of care for patients with both acute injuries and chronic orthopedic needs.
