The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that 46-year-old Lawrence Bohnenkamp, from Iowa City, passed away while in custody.
Authorities say Bohnenkamp was discovered during a routine head count early Wednesday morning.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is overseeing the case, and an autopsy is currently being conducted to determine the cause of death.
