Home Modifications Iowa is launching Care Partner Camp, an interactive, in-person event designed to support family caregivers across Iowa.
Across the country, more individuals are aging while families balance work, parenting, and caregiving responsibilities. At the same time, access to formal support services is becoming more limited due to Medicaid funding shortfalls and workforce challenges. As a result, family
members are increasingly stepping into complex caregiving roles without the training or support they need.
Care Partner Camp was created to meet this need.
The event will provide practical, hands-on education focused on real-life caregiving skills, along with guidance on navigating available resources. Participants will leave with strategies they can immediately apply to support their loved ones while maintaining their own well-being. Caregiving support services will be available during the event, allowing attendees to fully participate while their loved ones are cared for in a safe and structured environment.
Care Partner Camp is designed primarily for family caregivers, including spouses and adult children, while also welcoming others who support individuals with care needs. The program recognizes the critical role family caregivers play and aims to provide accessible, meaningful support at a time when it is needed most.
