Law enforcement responded to a reported domestic disturbance involving a verbal and physical altercation between two individuals at a residence.
On February 3 at approximately 4:11 p.m., Kristina Davis, 30, of Bussey, and the victim were involved in a verbal argument at a residence in Pella.
According to court documents, the victim attempted to move Davis into the garage, where she was expected to wait for a ride. During this interaction, Davis allegedly damaged the door frame while reentering the residence. The victim reported that Davis then approached him in an aggressive manner, prompting him to restrain her in a bear hug and take her to the ground. He further stated that Davis struck him in the face during the altercation.
Pella Police officers reported no visible injuries or marks on the victim’s face. However, officers did observe a cut on the victim’s left pinky finger, which he claimed was sustained during the incident.
Criminal complaint records indicate that Davis fled the residence before officers arrived. She was later located near IA 163 East. Officers observed a mark on Davis’s left palm, which she stated occurred while running through wooded terrain prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
Davis and the victim have been married since August 2025.
Davis admitted to officers that she had been consuming alcohol. Police noted she displayed bloodshot and watery eyes and detected an odor of alcohol on her breath.
Davis was arrested and is currently being held at the Marion County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. A no-contact order was issued on February 4. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 13.
Davis is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing injury or mental illness, first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and Public Intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.
