The Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison has a new leadership change. Warden Mark Foreman has resigned from his position, with his resignation effective Friday, February 13, 2026. Foreman had been serving as warden since May 2025.
Following his departure, the Iowa Department of Corrections (DOC) has appointed Michelle Waddle as Interim Warden of the penitentiary. She will serve in this role until further notice. According to the DOC, the priority during this transition is to maintain safe and secure operations at the facility.
