On the morning of February 12, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office received a concerning report about a man lying on the railroad tracks in the Blakesburg area. The caller mentioned that the individual, later identified as 33-year-old Dakoda Kendon Flinn, was reportedly in possession of a handgun.
Deputies quickly arrived at the scene and found Flinn still lying near the tracks. Upon their arrival, he appeared to be intoxicated and was initially noncompliant with the deputies’ commands. Fortunately, he was taken into custody without any further issues.
During the investigation, officers confirmed that Flinn was carrying a .22 caliber revolver. He was subsequently transported to the Wapello County Jail, where he faces several charges, including:
- Possession of a firearm by a felon
- Trespassing
- Violation of a no-contact order
- Public intoxication
