Since 2012 the professional bull riding association, Bullriders of America (BOA) has held its finals at Bridge View Center (BVC) in Ottumwa, Iowa. The dust recently settled on the 2025 finals and the rippling economic and entertainment value to the community are still being felt. And it will continue. BOA and BVC are pleased to announce that this partnership will continue and they have signed a five-year contract cementing the finals through 2031.
“We’re proud to serve as the host venue for BOA,” Scott Hallgren, Executive Director of BVC, said. “Each February, year after year, we get to witness the Southeast Iowa community show up for two days of intense, bone-jarring sports entertainment. I’m proud of the way our business community has stepped up to support and I’m also impressed that we’re seeing multi-generational families that come each year. It’s a tradition for them – and that impact is measured in the number of hotel rooms being booked, the outside dollars they are bringing into our community. This is what it’s all about – it’s truly a testament to the Ottumwa community’s welcoming spirit.”
The thrilling competition features the Top 20 bull riders from throughout the United States, vying for the title and cash prizes. BVC also hosts the fan-favorite Cowboy Breakfast with The Bulls the morning of the last day-of-competition. Whether it’s the riders themselves, announcer, support teams or bull fighters, the BOA organization goes above and beyond to have a connection with the Southeast Iowa community – one that can’t be found in a bigger market or sports arena.
