Paula Louise Garrett, age 58, of Fremont, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the MHP Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa, Iowa, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 7, 1967, in Keosauqua, Iowa. She attended Fairfield High School and furthered her education at Indian Hills Community College and received her degree in Automotive Technology in 1994.
Paula was a homemaker for most of her life, taking care of her home and raising her children. When her children were grown, she went and worked as a CNA. She enjoyed playing computer games, fishing and watching the figure 8 races with her long-time significant other, Phillip.
She is survived by her children, Christina (Mike) Quigley of Ottumwa, Johnnie (Emily) Garrett of Oskaloosa, James (Alicia) Garrett of Eldon, Everett Garrett of Beacon and Robert (Donaella) Garrett of Colfax, her grandchildren, Conner, Dakota, Austin, Hazel, Dexter and Brooklyn and her significant other, Phillip Wulff.
Paula was preceded in death by her grandmother, Donna Boughner and an aunt, Rita Miller.
As was her wish, cremation will take place and there are no formal services planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
