Ottumwa residents can dispose of live Christmas trees through the city’s regular weekly bulky item collection throughout the month of January. Collected trees will be recycled into mulch.
Trees must be free of all tinsel, lights, and decorations, and they may not be placed in bags. Any tree taller than six feet must be cut in half before being set out for collection.
Residents are required to contact Bridge City Sanitation at 641-682-1700 at least one day prior to their scheduled bulky item collection day to arrange pickup.

- January 8 – North Side
- January 13 – South Side
- January 15 – North Side
- January 22 – Both North and South Sides
(Thursday collection due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday) - January 27 – South Side
